Kyah Mull, Account Executive at John Edwards Inc, brings a story shaped by discipline, resilience, and early independence. Originally from Decatur, Illinois, and raised in Thomson, Kyah grew up in an environment that demanded structure and accountability. With a father who emphasized high standards and a childhood that included public speaking and sharing messages with her congregation, she developed communication skills and confidence at a young age.
Her early experiences pushed her outside of her comfort zone, teaching her how to connect with people from all walks of life. That foundation continues to influence how she approaches her role at John Edwards Inc today.
A Nontraditional Path to Opportunity
Before stepping into sales, Kyah explored several paths. She gained experience in retail and hospitality while also building her own business, Kyah’s Kupkakes, where she sold gourmet cupcakes at farmers’ markets and collaborated with local businesses.
Running her own brand gave her hands-on experience with marketing, customer relationships, and personal accountability. It also showed her the value of creating something from the ground up.
That drive for growth led her to John Edwards Inc in April 2025, where she was drawn to our company’s focus on servant leadership and the opportunity to be part of a team that invests in people.

Growth Through Challenge and Resilience
Kyah’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. In 2021, she faced a life-threatening case of COVID-19. Hospitalized and placed on a ventilator and an ECMO machine, she nearly lost her life and emerged with a new perspective on what matters most.
“I fought for my life and came out the other side with an appreciation for my life and for people I didn’t have before.”
That experience strengthened her mindset in ways that carry into everything she does. It reinforced the importance of gratitude, focus, and intentional action—lessons she carries into both her personal life and her work. Kyah approaches each day with a conscious effort to manage her energy and stay present.
“I can’t conduct sales if my energy is off. I have to take stock of what’s going on, shift my perspective, and keep it pushing.”
In her leadership, Kyah leads from the front and sets the standard through her own actions. She doesn’t ask her team to do anything she isn’t willing to do herself, and she understands that people pay attention to what you do more than what you say. Building real trust matters to her, and she takes pride in being someone her team can rely on for support, guidance, or even just a conversation.
Creating Impact Through Leadership
One of the most meaningful parts of Kyah’s journey has been helping others grow. From hitting major personal sales milestones to promoting her first leader, she takes pride in the impact she has had on her team.

Her approach is rooted in authenticity. She believes people respond to leaders who are real, consistent, and willing to do the work alongside them. She also values curiosity and strong personal character in those around her, which shapes the culture she contributes to every day.
“The only difference between a success story and a failure is that one person quit before they achieved it.”
Kyah’s ambitions extend across both her career and community. She is working toward a leadership promotion at John Edwards Inc, with plans to open her own office and continue growing within the organization. At the same time, she dreams of financial freedom that allows her to give back in meaningful ways — creating community centers with classrooms, kitchens, weight rooms, and safe spaces for youth, supporting families in need, and providing opportunities for others to thrive.
Her journey reflects what can happen when determination meets opportunity. Through discipline, self-awareness, and a genuine commitment to others, Kyah Mull continues to build a career defined by growth, leadership, and lasting impact.
